Quality documents
Ask for available material or product documentation with the intended scope clearly stated.

Match the file to the product.
Include the product code, market, intended use and file type required. If a corresponding file is available, it can be reviewed against that scope.

Documents only help when they describe the garment you are buying. A test report should name the garment style, the standard and edition, the laboratory and the test date; a tape or fabric certificate covers that component only.
For the EU market, high-visibility clothing is Category II PPE under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. That means EU type-examination by a notified body, conformity to type, an EU declaration of conformity and CE marking, all covering the exact configuration placed on the market.
What to check
- The garment style or model is named.
- The standard and edition, such as ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 or EN ISO 20471.
- The class and, for ANSI/ISEA 107, the garment type.
- The laboratory or notified body and the date.
- A scope that matches your color, tape layout and logo placement.
Questions buyers ask
What is an EU declaration of conformity?
It is the document in which the manufacturer declares that a product meets the applicable EU requirements. For Category II PPE such as high-visibility clothing, it follows EU type-examination by a notified body and must cover the exact configuration placed on the market.
Does a reflective tape certificate cover the whole garment?
No. A tape or fabric certificate describes one component. The visibility class depends on the finished garment, including background area, tape layout and coverage in each size, so ask for documents that name the garment.
Are documents available for custom orders?
Documents are confirmed for the finished configuration of each order. A change to color, material, tape layout, pockets or logo placement means the configuration is reviewed again, so state every change when you request documents.
